My sweet baby Lauryn

Sorry about this...I was trying to get her to smile and take the picture at the same time...and this was the best one. You can see how chubby she is in this picture!

I had to take Lauryn to get her first set of shots yesterday..... YUCK! They had to stick her 4 times and give her a fifth one orally. She was such a tough girl. She didn't cry much, but her face turned a bright shade of red! After that, she slept most of the day and night. She is the best baby out of all three (knock on wood)! She sleeps all night, puts herself to sleep for her naps during the day, and hardly cries unless she is hungry! The doctors told me she is very healthy and a whopping 15 lbs. and 24 inches long at only 8 weeks old! Can you believe that? How do I grow such big babies? The Lord has blessed me SO much! He sure knows what I can and can't handle and having this sweet baby has made the adjustment a lot easier.

I love my big brother!

Spencer has found a way to make Lauryn smile! She just adores him!

I love those chubby cheeks! I can't help but kiss them all day long!

Fun at Chuck E Cheese

To keep the boys busy this summer, they had chores to do everyday and for each duty, they got a sticker on their incentive chart. When they filled their charts up for a couple of weeks, I promised a trip to Chuck E Cheese's. Well, they worked really hard and deserved it! We had a lot of fun playing all sorts of games together.

Spencer's new skill

Spencer learned how to tie his shoes! We are very proud!

Boys haircuts

Dan took the boys with him to get haircuts. As you can see, Jacob had to be bribed with a sucker! The picture of Dan was taken by Spencer. He heard that his cousin, James, likes to take pictures, so he wanted to try it too!

Dentist visit

I took the kids to a new Pediatric Dentist on Friday. It was Jacob's first visit to the dentist and Spencer's third, but they were both pretty nervous. After much hesitation and bribing with a trip to Dairy Queen afterward, they finally decided to cooperate. They both did a really great job. We were very proud! And...no cavities, Hooray!!

Fun with the kids

On Thursday, we went to the Hands On Children's Museum with some friends and had a lot of fun!

Lauryn sleeps!

Last night, Lauryn slept through the night for the first time and she is only 5 1/2 weeks old! I felt very refreshed this morning. All the mothers out there know how great it is when they sleep so well for the first time. It is awesome!

Lauryn's blessing day

Yesterday, Dan blessed Lauryn in Sacrament Meeting. We sure missed all of our family! It was a beautiful blessing and Lauryn looks so beautiful in her new blessing dress. She couldn't wear the dress that my Mom made for all the grandaughters because she is a lot bigger than the other babies were at this age. Sorry, Mom!

Spencer lost his first tooth!

Last Thursday I was upset with the kids, as usual, because they wouldn't clean up their toys like I had asked them to about 50 times! Spencer was acting like a kitty cat, his new favorite game. He crawls around hissing and grabbing things with his mouth. Well, at this particular moment, he had a magnetic dart in his mouth and so I came over and took it out of his mouth all the while saying, "How many times do I have to ask you to pick up your toys?..... and take that out of your mouth!" and quietly, but with a worried tone Spencer said, "Mommy, I think you pulled out my tooth!" I changed my tone instantly!
I was so excited for him! I was giving him high fives and shouting, "Hooray! Now you get to put it under your pillow tonight and the Toothfairy will come and take the tooth and leave money for you!" Then he said, "I can taste blood!" and he started freaking out, so we went into the bathroom and I put a kleenex on the area and he started to gag and turned and threw up a little bit in the toilet! After he finally settled down about the whole bleeding issue, he took one look at himself in the mirror and said, " I look so weird!" and he ran to the corner. I guess he was embarrassed and didn't know what to think. I gave him some time alone and eventually he got used to the idea and started playing with the space with his tongue and saying words that sounded different. The next day, he proudly showed off his dollar to everyone that the Toothfairy left for him.
