Hawaii (Maui)

Dan got invited by the "big-wigs" at Ecolab to go work in Hawaii and I got the opportunity to go with him! With the help from my Mom and Dad with the kids, we left on Saturday, June 5th, and got back June 16th. It was a long time to be away from my babies, but we had a wonderful and relaxing time! Hawaii is absolutely gorgeous! The beauty is breathtaking and the people are so warm and kind and excited to share their culture. Dan and I didn't get to have a luxurious honeymoon, so we considered this our 2nd honeymoon, even though he had to work part of the time.

The first place we went to was the island of Maui. The towns are so small, that if you blinked, you would miss it! There is a lot of sugar cane farmland and beautiful green mountains and blue beaches. Here are some photos of Maui........

Gorgeous scenic lookout.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of fires on the mountains because of the heat. We couldn't get up to a place called Lahaina for Dan to do some stores because they closed the road due to the smoke from the fire.
My sweet husband figured out how to purchase a flower lei online and have it delivered to me at the airport! This was the cute Hawaiian lady that put it on me. Dan got brownie points for that one!
The airplane ride was SOOO long!!!

Me at the Old Banyan Tree
The Old Banyan Tree was amazing! This HUGE thing is all ONE tree with drop-down roots everywhere. Very cool.
Me enjoying my first fresh island smoothie! YUM!!
Beautiful drive..
AHHH! Look at that!
Our first experience parasailing tandem!!! It was a blast!!
That teeny tiny speck under the parachute is us!! 600 ft. in the air!!
Woo hoo!
Enjoying the boat ride.
Eating at The Melting Pot.......SO YUMMY! (but way too pricey!)

Enjoying the beach
There were wild chickens everywhere!
Watched the sunset on the beach
Dan just being, Dan. I love this guy!

(Then we flew to Oahu. More posts to come!)
